 Under the general supervision of the Plant Engineer and direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, works with others and performs various maintenance and construction jobs. Must be proficient in at least one of the three categories listed below or demonstrate ability in at least 2 of the categories listed below or must have graduated from an acceptable trade school. Will perform work in any of the three categories as required.

Skills:

Skills currently recognized by the company are – electrical, welding, and mechanical. Additional skills may be added to the list as the need arises.

“I” Electrical

Makes wiring diagrams and sketches, reads blueprints and wiring diagrams and makes installations and repairs there from. Possesses wide knowledge of plant electrical distribution centers; installs, operates, maintains, adjusts and locates trouble on all types of A.C. and D.C. equipment including fire house, motors, generators, transformers, control, lighting and instruments. Makes voltmeter, amp meter, ohmmeter, and other complex electrical tests. Must know and comply with Underwriter codes, national codes, state, and local codes. Must know company rules and regulations and comply with them.

“II” Mechanical

Works from complex blueprint, sketches or assembly drawings of equipment and installations. Measures and calculates for accurate installations, revisions and repairs. Makes analysis of mechanical difficulties and proceeds to adjust and correct them. Disassembles and assembles plant machinery and building, equipment, tools and makes replacement or repairs. Fits, aligns, lubricates and adjusts machinery and equipment to top working order to accurate tolerances.

“III” Welding

Plans and lays out work assignments, works from complex blueprints, sketches and makes all measurements and calculations necessary to complete various jobs. Flame and saw cuts, drills, taps, files, grinds and fits all types of metal for fabrication, alterations or repair to machines, building, equipment, jigs and fixtures. Makes welds, brazes, cuts, silver solders, solders all types of metal from difficult positions and hard to reach locations. Experienced in the use of tools of trades, possesses same and has knowledge of grinding and shaping of various metals.

General

Performs general construction, systems work, masonry, carpentry and painting work using appropriate materials and hand, power, portable and stationary tools, and equipment. Operates mobile equipment. Performs water treatment and fire protection equipment tests following prescribed methods. Makes corrections and repairs based on test results. Electronically submits daily records of time, materials and keeps tool, machine equipment and stores records as requested. Complies with safety policies and reports hazardous conditions. Keeps equipment, machines, and working areas clean and orderly. Performs other miscellaneous jobs as directed. Must have the necessary tools for above classification and be efficient in their use and maintain them in top condition.

The above sets forth the major work performed and serves the purpose of recording these items of work for job evaluation rating. It is understood that other work and essential duties not specifically listed may be assigned by the supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

General Description:

Incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Reporting directly to the maintenance supervisor but may receive direction from Level “A” & Level “B” mechanics.
  • Servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all plant process, production, and facility equipment.
  • Assuring equipment integrity 24/7/365.  

Required Qualifications:

  • Please submit resume.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrate basic oxy acetylene cutting and arc welding ability.
  • Demonstrate basic math skills as related to industrial maintainer skills.
  • Demonstrate basic PC skills as required for time tracking, work order confirmation and consumable usage check out. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma.
  • Two+ years of industrial maintenance experience and completion of a 30+ hour technical training apprentice, military, trade school or college accredited program.
  • Advanced knowledge and ability in a mechanical or electrical craft.
