The City of Irvine seeks customer-focused individuals to support the Great Park Visitors Center and to operate the Balloon and Carousel. Multiple vacancies exist: Part-time, up to 19 hours per week. Shifts will be scheduled Thursday-Sunday during hours of operation: 8 a.m.-10 p.m. (Availability for 2-3 shifts per week required.)

The ideal candidates will possess two years of college or university level work in recreation, facility management, or related field, and two years of related customer service and/or ride operation experience.Apply now. First application review: Monday, November 20.

Interview: After a thorough review of applications, those candidates deemed most qualified as reflected in their application will be invited to an interview.

Background Check: A thorough background investigation will be conducted prior to appointment.

Medical Examination: A medical examination will be conducted, including a drug screening and proof of a negative TB test to ensure the ability to perform assigned duties. Please note: Although Proposition 64 legalized the personal use of marijuana in California, marijuana is a prohibited substance in the workplace. Marijuana detected in pre-employment drug screening may result in disqualification from employment based on applicable laws. 

Future Vacancies: This recruitment may be used to fill future positions in similar and/or lower classifications within the organization.

Part-time employees are employed "at will" and their services can be discontinued without cause.

Certain City budgets may not include funding for mandated CalPERS employer contributions. A qualified candidate who is a current member of CalPERS may be restricted from temporary/part-time employment.
