Physical Demands / Working Conditions 
The workday has the potential to be varied based on the needs of the students and faculty. Lab and material prep will always be necessary daily, and the requirement to move between classrooms and work areas, often with materials and supplies. Overseeing a lab also involves standing and walking. Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, and reach overhead, and lift a minimum of 20+ pounds. Must be able to use tools or special devices to work.
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience according to Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines within the range of $50,142 - $60,171.

The Automotive Associate Instructor must monitor, grade and evaluate individual student progress; maintain student records in the college’s student records management software; maintain appropriate documentation; submit timely reports; and assist in recruitment of new students and placement of graduates. The Associate Instructor must also maintain good public relations with business and industry, maintain an active advisory committee and cooperate with outside agencies. This position will also supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education. Some travel is required. Areas of instruction include training in the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) certified program and the eight areas of ASE certification: engine repair, transmissions and transaxles, manual drive train and axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical and electronic systems, climate control, and engine performance. This position is full-time and reports to the Clarksville Campus Director. Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Scheduled class hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is not a remote position.

The technician must be able to hear instructions by hand held radio communications and by telephone. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Position Summary: The purpose of this grant funded position is to provide technical support to the Aviation Technology director, AVIT program and courses as well as provide support in the summer for the program.
Essential Functions: 
30% Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and calibrations on aviation tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with FAA standards. Troubleshoot and repair minor equipment malfunctions, documenting all maintenance activities.
25% Prepare and set up laboratory activities for instructors and students, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are available and in good working condition. Provide technical assistance to faculty and students during lab sessions, addressing questions and facilitating hands-on learning experiences.&nbsp; Provide oversight of open lab time.
20% Maintain accurate inventory records of tools, equipment, and consumables, ensuring all necessary materials are available for instructional use. Monitor stock levels, manage reordering processes, and minimize waste through effective resource utilization.
10% Ensure adherence to OSHA, FAA, and institutional safety regulations, conducting regular safety inspections and audits of the laboratory environment. Implement and maintain safety protocols, including the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
5% Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inventory usage, and safety inspections. Assist in tracking expenditures and reporting on budget variances related to laboratory operations.
5% Participate in program assessments and contribute to the development of process improvements that enhance laboratory efficiency and educational effectiveness.&nbsp; Stay current with advancements in aviation technology and industry best practices, attending training sessions as needed.
5% Other duties as assigned. Assist in preparation of lecture materials (powerpoint slides, graphics and photocopies). Assist in preparation and update of web based courses and course materials. Conduct lab tours and demos.&nbsp; Supervise work study students.
